About the event

We’re delighted to welcome Olivia Mulligan back to Pickering Book Tree for a festive poetry evening!

Olivia will perform a mix of year round and seasonal poems. Her uplifting and relatable poetry makes this sure to be a joyful event, an ideal way to spend time in the run up to Christmas. There will be mulled wine and spiced biscuits to complement this lovely evening in the bookshop.

Visit Olivia’s website to see a sample of her poetry and to find out more about her work and projects. You can also follow her on Facebook or Instagram.

Olivia started sharing her poetry with the world in lockdown (2020). She wrote a poem each day and would pin each poem on her gate post for passers by to read. Since then, she has had three poetry collections published, Poems On The Gate Post, Advice From A Stranger and 10:37.

Passionate about sharing uplifting material with others, she has taken to the stage performing her poetry, runs poetry workshops for both children and adults, and has been BBC Radio York’s Poet Laureate since the start of 2021.

The event will start at 7.30pm, with doors open from 7pm for bookshop browsing, socialising and festive treats. There will be two twenty minute sessions which will be a mix of performance poetry and the stories behind the poems, followed by a Q&A. There will also be an opportunity to have copies of Olivia’s books signed.

Tickets are free, but spaces limited so book early to guarantee a seat. We hope to see you there!
