Manga Workshop

Calling all young artists and storytellers! Come and have a go at creating a Manga self-portrait, and perhaps write yourself into your own comic book fiction. You will learn about Manga and anime styles and get the chance to practice some of the illustrative techniques to help your drawings 'pop' off the page.  

Manga enthusiast, Simon Crook is a graphic designer and animator who specialises in drawing characters. He has illustrated graphic novels and has created images and animations for adverts. He also has many years experience in tutoring, arts development and youth outreach.

Whether you are a fan of the traditional anime from Studio Ghibli, the ninja adventures of Naruto or the supernatural goings on at Nightschool (age recommendation 13+), there'll be plenty of drawing tips and advice to help you get started on your own Manga adventure. It's a great way to have a go at a new skill, meet new friends and even get an insight into professional Manga drawing.
