About the event

Join us on a steampunk adventure this October half term!

Travel to a world powered by steam, with mechanical parrots and a clever monkey. Hear extracts from A Pandemonium of Parrots and make your own mechanical creature to take home.

Dawn Treacher is a children's book author and illustrator. Her love of all things fantastical has led her to write fantasy adventure stories which introduce children aged from 8-12 years to magical new worlds, fantastical creatures and adventures where bravery, resourcefulness and self belief will conquer the beast.

This half term book reading and workshop event is perfect for readers of 8+ who love fantastical adventure stories. Booking is essential as places are limited.

The Book Blurb

Otto lives with his uncle, an ambitious mechanic and creator of mechanical animals that live in the orangery. When a break-in occurs and many parrots are stolen, the police blame Florence, a street child, who sits outside the orangery and draws. Otto and Florence work together to solve the crime, encountering pirates and an arch villain along the way.

A rollicking steam adventure with mechanical parrots and a clever monkey.
